Supervisory Special Agent – FBI
Supervisory Special Agent David Martin is the director of the Cyber
Action Team (CAT), the FBI's elite investigative rapid response team
for computer intrusion incidents. A native of Denver, Colorado, SSA
Martin has over 15 years of law enforcement experience with the FBI,
the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Littleton Police
Department. He has been investigating computer intrusions for the FBI
since 2009, in the Detroit field office and now in the Cyber Technical
Operations Unit at headquarters. He has a Bachelor of Science in
Computer Science from the University of Denver, a Master of Science in
Information Security Engineering from the SANS Technology Institute
and holds the prestigious GIAC Security Expert (GSE) certification.
His specialties include digital forensics and incident response,
network traffic analysis, malware reverse-engineering and writing
ugly, poorly-documented field-expedient python scripts (as well as a
few more polished digital forensics platforms).
