Technologies Shaping Cyber Security Today and Tomorrow

CDS KEYNOTE

The attackers we fight today are dynamic, determined, well resourced, and increasingly sophisticated. Our primary advantage against them is our ability to anticipate or quickly respond to their evolving methods. How will new advances in technology play a role in protecting our community from these threats? What does the security operations center of the future look like, and how do we get there from here?

Grady Summers | Executive Vice President, Products | FireEye

Nowhere to Hide: Intelligence Illuminating the Threat

CDS KEYNOTE

Threat intelligence is a guiding light in uncertain times. It uncovers cyber activity that malicious actors try to keep hidden, helps organizations prioritize improvements to their security posture, and can dynamically stop threat actors in their tracks. In fact, history shows that the better we know our cyber adversaries, the better we can anticipate what they may target and the tactics they’ll employ. But how do we use threat intelligence to our best advantage in today’s complex environment? From stopping mass ransomware attacks to shedding light on hackers for hire, Sandra Joyce will highlight real-world examples and strategies to illuminate the critical role that threat intelligence plays in empowering agencies and organizations, and, importantly, how it can give the advantage back to the network defenders.

Sandra Joyce | Senior Vice President, Head of Global Intelligence | FireEye

As Senior Vice President and Head of Global Intelligence at FireEye, Sandra Joyce oversees intelligence collection, research, analysis, and support services for FireEye cyber threat intelligence customers and the FireEye security product portfolio. Sandra has held positions in product management, business development, and intelligence research over the course of over 21 years in both national security and commercial industry. The Sky Is Not The Limit: Lessons From A Year In Space

CDS CLOSING KEYNOTE

During his record-breaking Year In Space, U.S. astronaut Scott Kelly captivated the world while laying the groundwork for the future of space travel and exploration. And while science was at the core of Kelly’s groundbreaking expedition — it is his life lessons and personal stories from 229 miles above Earth and the path that led him there that provide such unique and valuable perspective on embracing risk and discovering one’s true potential to achieve the impossible. With a journey that exemplifies the power and resilience of the human spirit, from U.S. Navy fighter pilot to record-holding astronaut, Kelly reveals the choices and life events that paved his way. An American hero whose contribution to humanity is as far reaching as his epic story, Kelly reflects on his journey with his trademark candor, humor and humility. From the leadership and teamwork required in such demanding conditions, to the long-term deprivation from loved ones and Planet Earth itself, Kelly delivers a truly one-of-a-kind experience.

Captain Scott Kelly | History-Making U.S. Astronaut & Retired U.S. Navy Captain

Scott Kelly is a former military fighter pilot and test pilot, an engineer, a retired astronaut, and a retired U.S. Navy captain. A veteran of four space flights, Kelly commanded the International Space Station (ISS) on three expeditions and was a member of the yearlong mission to the ISS. In October 2015, he set the record for the total accumulated number of days spent in space, the single longest space mission by an American astronaut.

Scott’s New York Times best-selling memoir, Endurance: My Year In Space and Our Journey to Mars captures awe-inspiring stories from space and personal reflections on leadership, teamwork and testing limits.

Due to an unforeseen circumstance, Secretary Clinton will no longer be able to participate in this year’s conference. Additional speakers will be announced as confirmed. We look forward to hosting attendees in October with a comprehensive program at our 10th annual event.
